The challenge to find this year’s ‘Best Golfer in UK Residential Property’ was concluded this week at the final of the Zoopla Property Group Charity Classic 2013, which took place at the world-famous The Belfry golf course.
Andrew Glover from Curchods Estate Agents in Surrey saw off stiff competition from fellow agents and developers, securing himself as the overall winner of the 2013 Zoopla Property Group Charity Classic Cup and earning himself the much-coveted title of ‘Best Golfer in UK Residential Property 2013’.
Since May of this year, 240 UK residential agents and developers have battled it out on some of the best courses up and down the country in the four regional qualifying rounds of the Zoopla Property Group Charity Classic. Only 40 of those with the highest scores from the qualifying rounds secured a place in the grand final this week at The Belfry and this year Phil Spencer, Brand Ambassador for Zoopla also attended and played in the tournament.
This is the second year that the Zoopla Property Group Charity Classic has been held and is now a firm fixture and highly sought after ticket on the property industry calendar. This year the tournament was in aid of raising funds for ZPG’s partner charity The Princes’ Trust and has so far raised £6,000 for the charity that helps change young lives.
Whilst the trophy and ultimate bragging rights go to Andrew Glover, regional bragging rights in the qualifying rounds each went to:
- Manor House, Wiltshire – Keith Russell at White and Russell
- Woburn, Milton Keynes – Roydon Weekes at Kings Group
- Walton Heath, Surrey – Chris Valentine at Ludlow Thompson
- Royal Liverpool, Wirral – Philip Worth at Worth Property Services

Zoopla Property Group has committed over £100,000 to various charities so far this year with the golf tournaments helping to add to that figure as well as providing a fun day out and chance to meet up with industry peers for agents and developers across the UK.
Jon Notley, Commercial Director Zoopla Property Group said: “The response to this year’s tournament has been overwhelming. It’s great for us to be able to offer such an event for our members whilst raising funds for The Prince’s Trust. Congratulations to Andrew on a well-deserved victory on such a challenging championship course”.
Andrew Glover of Curchods in West Horsley, Surrey said: “Thanks to all the team at Zoopla Property Group for a brilliantly organised event including both the qualifying rounds and the final at The Belfry. The course was fantastic and it was great to have Zoopla’s brand ambassador Phil Spencer there. For me it was a really great day out, not just for the golf but also to participate in helping to raise a significant amount for the Princes’ Trust. I look forward to defending my title in 2014!”
