Portugal’s Casa Sapo, experienced an already stellar start in January with 1.14 million visits, now, the real estate portal has broken a new record in February by registering a 23,90% growth compared to the same period in the year before.
João Figueiredo, Manager at Casa Sapo stated among the reasons for this success, “a return from both professionals, buyers and sellers to the marketplace as well as the complete overall in our offers to meet the challenging market shift to rentals.” He further added that, “the existence of many free classified websites have nothing by reinforced the importance of verticals, due to the lack of quality and fraud related issues.”
This chief growth happened when the Portuguese economy registered a recession of 3.2% GDP, and still, over 39.000 leads were generated, the biggest number in more than 12 months.
“More than increasing results for our customers, we completed the overall of our software tool so that our agents can make the best of those leads, introducing the new property management CRM tool eGO Real Estate not only in Portugal but in several other markets such as Spain, Mexico and Brazil to name a few, to continue the push into other markets,” concluded Figueiredo.
Casa Sapo was launched in 2001 and is developed by the company Janela Digital, partially owned by Portugal Telecom. The company currently has over 80 people working out of Óbidos – Portugal, it has offices in Barcelona, Spain and an online presence in several other countries.
