US automotive media company Cox Enterprises has appointed Nancy Rigby as president of Cox Foundations, effective immediately. She will continue reporting to Jim Kennedy, current chairman of the company.
“Under Nancy’s leadership, the Cox Foundation reinforces our company’s long history of being a good corporate citizen through giving,” said Kennedy in a statement.
“Her insights have elevated our philanthropic impact in the areas of conservation, early childhood education, empowerment and health. Nancy’s expertise is creating local models that are being successfully replicated across the nation.
Rigby joined the organization in 2012 as vice president, Cox Foundations. She oversees the business management and administration of foundation operations. Under her leadership, the James M. Cox Foundation has contributed more than $75 million in Atlanta alone.
The grants are expanding access to trails, parks and greenspace, as well as providing healthcare organizations with funding to reinvent patient experiences. Cox’s involvement in early childhood education is helping narrow the 30-million-word gap and preparing children for success, which ultimately leads to better communities and economies.
