eBay Local Services Ads is being initiated in the US as well as Germany beginning trials of the program this month. Local Services Ads grants companies the ability to advertise directly to customers on eBay that’s pertinent to them and uses eBay’s user data to give advertisers better judgement.
eBay customers see these adverts for companies that are nearby to their location and will show them their products via the site’s search. For instance is a user is looking for vehicles they will get search results for car dealerships that are close to them and match the search they are seeking out.
Companies can join this new program via the website and decide if they’d like to make their own custom advertisements or use eBay’s templates. Businesses target what kind of customers and portions of their potential audience they’d like via the kind of products, specific keywords, geographic location, and demographics.
EU’s director for eBay, Bert Bassett has been leading this new program and said, “eBay wants to become a marketplace for services as well as products – and we think that this is a great place to start.”
“Our Local Services Ads will particularly help small service-based businesses to use our inventory to target local, relevant customers.”
“Crucially, we’re helping them reach users when they’re already in a buying mood, and when we know they’re in the market for a particular service, to deliver maximum return on investment.”
