Encuentra24, Central America’s leading classifieds site, has incorporated ‘Clave’ digital payments into its platform. The solution is to be provided by local Panamanian companies and uses the most common regional technology to facilitate payments.
Panama is seeing around 1,000 new coronavirus cases per day, and as such the move will be welcomed by many in a region where cash transactions are still very much the norm. Apart from removing friction from the transactions that take place on Encuentra24’s site, the move will help to stop the spread of the disease.
Encuentra24, which has presence throughout Central America, recently did a deal with rival OLX which sees the latter merge into the Encuentra24 brand. With its enhanced market dominance, we can surely expect more innovations to bring transactions into the digital sphere in the near future.
