The European Commission and EU consumer authorities, after butting heads with both Uber and Google, have their gaze set on Airbnb, having given the company seven weeks to revise its terms and conditions after announcing they do not agree with the company’s current rules.
The announcement includes the assertion that the second most valuable startup in the US needs to become more transparent around pricing.
Adding to Airbnb’s to-do list, the regulator told the company that it needs to be clearer on whether a rental offer comes from a private landlord or a professional entity, as well as provide an easily accessible way to resolve disputes online.
