Fairygodboss has rolled out Work-Life Balance Guide, a crowdsourced database aiming to help women find employers who offer the flexible working policies, and jobs they’re interested in – even from companies who don’t openly share that information.
When Fairygodboss launched in 2015, it introduced the first-ever crowdsourced database of parental leave policies, since less than 10% of Fortune 100 employers publish their maternity leave policies.
The Work-Life Balance Guide enables users to search specific companies or industries and find out which employers offer part-time, telecommuting jobs or flexible working policies. Additional insights such as compressed workweeks, allowances for some work-from-home days, or flexible workday start and end times will also be easily searchable in the database.
For employers who are seeking to retain and attract female talent, offering flexibility at work means happier employees. “Our data shows a direct and lock-step relationship between higher female job satisfaction levels and higher reported job flexibility levels among women in in our community,” says Georgene Huang, CEO of Fairygodboss.
Romy Newman, president and co-founder of Fairygodboss said that many organizations strive to give employees a positive work-life balance, but achieving it is easier said than done.
According to women in the Fairygodboss community, flexibility in the workplace is one of the most important attributes of a prospective employer. Similarly, millennial workers (who are the fastest-growing group of employees in the workforce and often change jobs in search of better work-life balance) care tremendously about work-life balance and flexibility in where, when and how they work.
