GW, a large career center, has launched a new portal for recent college graduates called GW Career Connect. Said portal is planning to have a soft launch soon with a full launch later once potential traffic has been mapped out. Students will be able to ask for help from other students or alumni, and the alumni can also choose students to work at their new companies.
“One of the best professional development tools for students is their network,” Browne said in an email. “GW Connect will help students build and maximize their network with alumni who are eager to help them succeed and have the common connection through GW,” said Julia Browne, associate director of industry coaching.
Already over 100 alumni have signed up to assist in the program, with more hopefully joining in the future. Undergraduates can join by attending two seminars and a “boot camp”, with more registration periods coming up at a later date.
Alumni Association President Venessa Marie Perry said “I know that fellow graduates and I are eager to mentor current students and provide opportunities for them to ask us questions as they embark on their professional journeys.”
