Ex-CEO of Australian leader REA Group joins board of top Swedish portal
Leading Swedish property portal Hemnet has today announced the appointment of News Corp’s President of Global Digital Real Estate Tracey Fellows to its board of directors. Australian Fellows is a former CEO of The REA Group and still serves on its board, a position she will continue to hold in parallel with her new appointment in Sweden. Prior to her work in the world of property portals, Fellows was a high-flyer in Microsoft having been CEO of Microsoft Australia and VP of the software giant’s Asia Pacific division.
Fellows is the second recent appointment of a former big-name portal employee to the Hemnet board of directors after former Rightmove CEO Nick Mckittrick was appointed back in May. The General Atlantic-owned Swedish market-leader is clearly looking to tap into the expertise of executives who have specific experience leading dominant property portals in mature markets. Speaking of the appointment to his company’s board, Håkan Erixon, Chairman of the Board at Hemnet said.
“I am delighted to welcome Tracey to Hemnet’s Board of Directors. Her vast experience from driving expansion of digital real estate businesses in the U.S, Asia and Australia will contribute with invaluable perspectives to the Board and to the company. The addition of Nick and now Tracey to the Board, both with extensive board and management experience from public companies, strengthens our existing skills and experiences with unique international industry knowledge. They will both bring important insights as Hemnet continues to grow and execute on its strategy.”
