I was reading an article on the Forbes top holiday Designations.

- Rome, Italy

And it struck me as an odd collection of cities, well some of them. My second thought was why property portals would not have designed more festive homepage layout for the holiday season. So I visited 5 of the top five portals in Europe and found that none had changed the look and feel of their site.
Now I am not saying portals should change their look and feel for every Holiday, but the Xmas holiday season is celebrated around the world, and you would think that portals would want to cash in on some of that Xmas cheer. How?
Targeted banner ads.
- It’s also the biggest travel season; why not interlock holiday rentals with airfares.
- Its gift giving so credit cards application banners.
Many Property Portals think of themselves as only selling and renting real-estate. But they are so much more. They are marketing outlets. It’s easy enough to market other products, especially during the season of giving. Where most people want to buy, should a marketing outlet not making it easier for them to do so.
We all know it’s a slow season for listings, why not supplement the bottom line with some Holiday Cheer, it’s the best Xmas present you can give to your shareholders.
