US real estate portal homes.com has released a mobile application for Android phones, adding to its apps for iPhone and Blackberry.
homes.com jumped into the mobile property search arena relatively early, releasing its iPhone app in March 2009, and following up with a BlackBerry Storm app and mobile website that September.
homes.com says Android sales rose 886 percent from the second quarter of 2009 to the second quarter of 2010, and cites Canalys figures that have Android surpassing the iPhone in terms of market share during that period.
“Features such as GPS capabilities allow you to search nearby listings, get driving directions and navigate neighborhoods with Google Maps,” homes.com says of the new Android app. “Additionally, users can view extensive property details and photo galleries of nearly 4 million properties listed on homes.com.”
homes.com currently occupies eighth position on the Hitwise list of US real estate websites.
