Recently, we caught up with Condo.com’s CEO, Richard Swerdlow for an interview at the Global Online Marketplaces Miami Summit 2018.
Richard Swerdlow, CEO, and founder of Condo.com is responsible for the Company’s strategic direction, marketing, and operations. He came up with the idea for a global marketplace for condominiums as he drove to a development site which his company acquired for a high-end condo project, when it occurred to him that, although the projects were selling, and buyers were purchasing units left and right with the intention of “flipping” them, this activity was destined to eventually come to a halt, and the condo market would become over-saturated.
Swerdlow’s goal was to help brokers, builders and developers, financial institutions and individual owners sell their inventory as the market began to cool off. Swerdlow grew Condo.com into a global online marketplace to create liquidity for all participants.
Now, Condo.com claims to have over 5 million properties for sale, rent, and vacation.
Whilst attending the Global Online Marketplaces Miami 2018 Summit, Swerdlow was kind enough to grant us an interview. One of the questions posed to Swerdlow was: “What new, or innovative products, methods or processes are you or your company was implementing?” He explained that at Condo.com, the obvious niche is condos and the marketing of these to the public.
During the past year, the company has focused on developing and building a marketing platform that allows agents and other users to specifically market buildings; as part of this, Condo.com launched a building-specific magazine and a myriad of other tools which enable both, third-party advertisers and Condo.com, as a broker, to go after the transactions.
