Despite its booming jobs market, India was the lowest ratios in gender parity in the workplace. That’s what inspired University of Pennsylvania graduate Neha Bagaria to create JobsForHer.com. This is a specialised job portal aimed at helping India’s untapped female workforce find employment.
Bargaria told Fortune, “I took a three plus year break in my own career when I had my children,”
“During this personal journey, I became aware of the various difficulties a woman faces in order to re-enter the workforce.”
With over 1,600 companies as potential recruiters on JobsForHer, including the likes of The Future Group, Genpact and Unilever, the portal is receiving over 50,000 applications on average every month, which is nearly 300% increase from last year, according to the company.
