The three industry-leading judges who will decide the fate of the six finalists vying for valuable investment dollars at the Property Portal Watch conference in Madrid have been announced.
Simon Baker, founder of PPW and former CEO of Australia’s REA Group, will lead the judging panel.
Baker will be joined by judges Gonzalo Ortiz, founder of Mitula.com, and Malcolm Myers, founder and CEO of European Internet Ventures, to help him determine which business will take out the funding prize at the Madrid Pitch Club.
Between them, the judges have a wealth of experience within the classifieds sector. Myers has spent the last 20 years contributing to the commercial success of a series of international mobile and internet companies, while Ortiz’s company Mitula has continued to dominate the the vertical search industry.
Pitch club participants will have five minutes to describe the problem they are attempting to solve with their idea or current business model, and will detail their company’s specific competitive advantage and explain why they are asking for a particular funding sum.
Each pitch will be followed by a five-minute Q&A panel to allow the judges to ask questions and flesh out finer details of the idea, as well as determine exactly how the funding would be spent.
The event will take place at the conference on Thursday 29 September from 4pm to 6pm, and the judging panel will include top-tier industry representatives from around the globe.
