Two big announcements from Asian property group Juwai IQI this morning as the company announced both a partnership with Standard Chartered Malaysia as well as announcing Leon Kong as General Manager of Advertising Solutions. Kong is the founder of South East Asian property portal company iProperty which was acquired by REA Group in 2015 and has been an advisor to Juwai IQI since 2019. His new role will see him lead the team which supports potential and new customers, something Kong has plenty of experience in and something that group Executive Chairman Georg Chmiel was keen to pay tribute to:

“We couldn’t have anyone better than Leon to lead our sales team. At iProperty Group, he achieved an agent penetration rate of 80%, a key element in its success. Again and again, he has proven his ability to build successful relationships with agents and developers, to drive sales growth, and to build a thriving and motivated team.”

The other Juwai IQI announcement sees the company partner with Standard Chartered’s Malaysia division to offer the latter’s range of financial services and loans to Juwai’s customers to aid the process of purchasing property and, ultimately, becoming citizens of the world. Although Juwai may be best known as the property portal bringing worldwide property to the Chinese market, the company is very strong in South East Asia as well and in May released a sister site, juwai.asia to make it easier for investors from the region to buy global property. Speaking about the partnership, Standard Chartered Malaysia’s MD and CEO Abrar A. Anwar said:

"Real estate is a vital asset class for our clients as a means to diversify their investments. This collaboration offers Juwai IQI’s clients access to Standard Chartered’s comprehensive range of property loans and mortgage solutions to help them achieve their property ownership dreams.”
