The Mahou San Miguel Foundation, in collaboration with the Club of Excellence in Sustainability, announced the second edition of the Prize to Promote Youth Employment, an award that recognizes the work that both companies and social organizations carry out to generate employment opportunities among the young people of Spain. The initiative also aims to raise awareness among the business community and society in general about the need for employability from one of the groups most affected by unemployment, as this will improve competitiveness and bring the business world closer.
As in its first call, three categories have been established: Large Company, SMEs and Third sector (schools, associations, foundations and other non-profit groups). In addition, with the intention of being able to recognize organizations of all types, the third category is divided into two options: foundations linked to large companies and smaller social entities.
Once all the proposals have been received, a jury of reputable experts in training and employment will analyze all the applications submitted. In their assessment, they will take into account both the impact they have had and the value they bring in the creation of stable and quality employment, especially when it is aimed at groups of young people; the consistency and permanence of the project over time; the replicability of the model in other areas or regions; as well as its innovative character and its scope. It is also valued that the projects presented have taken into account the concept of sustainability in its triple aspect: economic, environmental and social. Its ruling will be announced soon after, after which the awards ceremony will be held to the winners of each category.
“More and more companies and institutions are aware of the great responsibility when it comes to implementing actions to contribute to fight against youth unemployment. Without a doubt, we are facing one of the great challenges of today, and we can only face it through the involvement of society as a whole, collaborating, innovating and looking for new ways of doing things, “says Alfredo Mahou, president of the Mahou San Miguel Foundation.
The second edition of the Prize for the Promotion of Youth Employment gives continuity to the one undertaken at the end of a previous year, when more than 60 candidates were received. On that occasion, Fundación MAPFRE, Alcampo and S2 Innovation Group in Organizational Processes were the awarded organizations, due to the quality and long-term vision of their proposals. In addition, the Fundación Secretariado Gitano obtained a special recognition in the category of Third Sector for its great work.
