Global classifieds site OLX, has hired former Jumia human resources manager Mary Wanyeri to head up its HR department in Kenya.
Ms Wanyari was the former HR manager at African internet firm Jumia and has held similar positions at Karen Hospital and Real People.
OLX Kenya, which includes property as one of its most popular categories, has enlisted Ms Wanyeri to manage a small team at the popular classifieds site.
Wanyeri brings to the table 10 years of experience from various sectors. She said of her tenure:
“I am pleased to join the OLX group as their HR business partner and look forward to developing a strong group of employees not only aligned to our strong values, but also having a team of people with a great mastery of their roles. Being a global company, I look forward to seamless alignment of our global business purpose and reinforcing it locally,” she commented on her appointment.
The Kenyan classifieds site has a large focus on property listings with real estate one of its strongest categories; at the beginning of March the site partnered with real estate firm Property 24 to offer discounts to property agents posting advertisements for the first time.
