To help support the transportation needs of individuals and families affected by the wildfire in the Northern California area, McKesson has partnered with Lyft to provide complimentary rides to local hospitals or treatment centers. Today’s partnership follows on McKesson’s donation of $100,000 to the American Red Cross in support of wildfire relief efforts.
“Because of the North Bay fires, even getting to treatment centers remains a challenge for many patients. Through our partnership with Lyft, we can ease the transportation burden and remove a major barrier to patients receiving the medical care they need,” said Christine Lopez, president of the McKesson Foundation.
For individuals in need of a Lyft to or from a treatment center in the North Bay and surrounding areas, please use Lyft promotion code “MCKESSONCARES” to qualify for your free ride. Complimentary rides available for a limited time only, and rides must start or end at one of the partner healthcare organizations. (Please note that anyone requiring emergency medical needs should contact 9-1-1.) Treatment centers include (among many others):
- Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital
- Queen of the Valley Medical Center (Napa)
- Petaluma Valley Hospital
- Sutter Medical Foundation Vacaville
- Sutter Medical Foundation Brownsville
- Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital
“Our hearts go out to those who have been affected by the devastating North Bay fires in California,” said Veronica Juarez, senior director of business initiatives at Lyft. “As the widespread negative health effects continue to impact millions across the Bay Area, we are working with our partners at McKesson to improve access to non-emergency medical care through better transportation options, so that people who need medical assistance can easily get to and from appointments.”
