Melina Cruickshank, a now former senior marketer at property firm, Domain, has switched over to the company's rival, REA Group. The move comes just short of Nine Entertainment taking control of Fairfax Media, a media company that owns 60% of Domain.
REA Group has appointed Melina Cruickshank into the role of Chief Marketing & Content Officer. Ms Cruickshank joins REA after more than 20 years in senior marketing and advertising roles both here in Australia and in the UK including her most recent position as Chief Marketing and Content Officer of Domain.
Commenting on Ms Cruickshank’s appointment, Ms Fellows said: “Melina was the standout candidate and I’m delighted she has agreed to join us. She is passionate about this sector and has a track record of success leading teams and growing product and content revenue streams in Australia and abroad. Melina will drive our global marketing and content strategy, working with our talented teams in Australia and around the globe.” said Ms Fellows.
Melina’s background covers time in e-commerce, agency, online classifieds and digital publishing where her work has centred on building, growing and commercialising audiences. Prior to Domain, Melina was Group Director, Life Media at Fairfax leading the product and commercial content divisions that launched digital brands Traveller, Daily Life, Executive Style, Essential Baby and Good Food. She was also a Product Manager in the first Fairfax Digital team that launched smh.com.au, theage.com.au, and afr.com.au. Melina holds a BA (Hons) from Monash University and Grad Diploma from Birkbeck University of London.
Commenting on her new role, Ms Cruickshank said: “It is difficult to leave Domain. I’ve enjoyed my time here and am grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given. The transition offers a global role for the industry leader, and I’m excited about stepping up to lead teams at that level. I also have enormous respect for Tracey and the REA executive team and am excited to work with them.”
Ms Cruickshank will be a part of REA Group’s Executive Leadership Team, reporting to CEO, Tracey Fellows.
