Compass taps artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud computing leader to accelerate investments in the real estate industry's first end-to-end platform.
Proptech company, Compass, has recently announced that recent Microsoft exec, Joseph Sirosh, will join the Compass team as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Sirosh will be head of the engineering team and work to develop new AI-powered tools to aid the real estate ecosystem, and mostly Compass' 7000+ agents.
As CTO, he will scale Compass' technology platform to capture global real estate supply and connect it to worldwide consumer demand. Sirosh will start on December 4th and report into Chief Operating Officer Maëlle Gavet.
Sirosh, most recently Chief Technology Officer of Artificial Intelligence at Microsoft, stewarded the development and expansion of Microsoft's cloud AI and Data products over the last five years. Prior to Microsoft, Sirosh was the Vice President of the Global Inventory Platform reporting to the CEO of Amazon's Consumer Business where he was responsible for the science and software behind Amazon's supply chain and order fulfillment systems. He was an early innovator in Machine Learning at Amazon and built and led a variety of groups including a central machine learning team and the Transaction Risk Management group. Sirosh holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin.
"We are thrilled to bring Joseph's AI, machine learning and cloud computing expertise to Compass as we accelerate our technology roadmap and build out our product stack," said Compass Chairman and Co-Founder Ori Allon. "Joseph's leadership at Microsoft and Amazon will galvanize our 170+ member technical team as we build the industry's first-ever end-to-end platform."
"I'm excited to join Compass to transform the real estate experience through technology," said incoming Compass CTO Joseph Sirosh. "Compass is a company with a once in a lifetime opportunity and when technologies like Artificial Intelligence are used to enhance the human experience, it can be a game changer. It will be a privilege leading this organization's impressive technical team towards this new future."
Sirosh joining the Compass team comes right after the appointment of Kristen Ankerbrandt as the Chief Financial Officer, along with a few other executive hires within the last year. These include Chief Marketing Officer Khurrum Malik, Chief Revenue Officer Matt Rosenberg, and Chief Sales Strategy Officer Michael Coscetta.
Following the close of its $400 million Series F, Compass has doubled down on its technology investments and talent strategy. In the last six months, Compass nearly doubled its technical team and expects rapid growth to continue in 2019.
