Purplebricks, the controversial hybrid agency, is subject of yet another complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority.
The ‘What’s included in our fixed fee?’ section of Purplebricks’ website has been complained about by an anonymous user.
The ASA state that “a complainant objected that the website did not make clear that if you use the ‘pay later’ option, you will have to pay and admin fee of £360 if you choose not to use the recommended conveyancing service.”
ASA contact the agency. They agreed to make the admin fee issue clear on its website, formally resolving the issue.
This is just the latest of many complains about Purplebricks sent to the ASA.
It was back in October when a comaplined by a defunct trade group was uphelp, imploring Purplebricks to change the wording in two specific commercials, viewed on TV, cinema, and online.
Given the circumstances, Purplebricks has not lost every complaint judgement made by the ASA.
Also in October, Purplebricks won against a separate ASA jusgement. The complaint was made by a Cornish estate agent, Chris Wood, among others.
The ASA decided to effectively dismiss comaplaints about the “localness’ and expertise of Purplebricks’ Local Property Experts.
