The UK’s Property Network, one of the largest social media property-search application in the country, has announced that Neighbourhood Watch and its affiliated group, the Neighbourhood Watch & Home Watch Network (NHWN), will be its adopted charity.
Property Network will be supporting Neighbourhood Watch by promoting the scheme through links to local Neighbourhood Watch groups on Community Pages and through a joint marketing campaign to both users and agents alike.
- Property Network and Neighbourhood Watch believe they have similar goals, notably improving the sense of community and responsibility in local areas.
- Property Network is trying to achieve that through removing boundaries and breaking social constructs using social media, and its social, lifestyle and demographical data to enable its users to find the right community/neighbourhood for them.
- Neighbourhood Watch groups support people to help them feel safer in their communities, and work with the police and other partners to help reduce crime.
- Property Network and Neighbourhood Watch will be conducting joint surveys and promotional exercises to Property Network’s 3.2 million users and Neighbourhood Watch’s 3.8 million households.
Kate Daisley, the Operations Director of the NHWN, said, “We are really grateful for the support from Property Network, they share a lot of our values and we look forward to working with them in future campaigns, ceremonies and publications.”
Sohail Rashid, CEO of Property Network and recent winner of Coutts Bank Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, said, “We really identify with the goals of the Neighbourhood Watch and NHWN. We will do anything we can to help them to help bring communities closer together, which includes encouraging home movers to seek out local Neighbourhood Watch groups during the moving process.”
