In the current market, many workers and even higher-ups are having difficulty learning new things. The cost of taking time to learn is high no matter where you are in the business, so many often stay rigid in their knowledge and do not spread out to new frontiers.
However, Karthik K.S. has launched a new venture to help with that issue. “Due to the reduced shelf life of employee skills, continuing education is no longer an option, but a must to remain relevant in the job market. So, we decided to help working professionals pursue higher education, without having to take academic sabbaticals,” says Karthik.
This venture, AEON Learning, has been around for a few years now. The company recently merged with Acadgild, another online learning firm, hoping to use their leverage to gain more respect in the academic fields.
“The online education industry in India was still in its infancy, and our solution was way ahead of the market. Finding takers was a big challenge,” says Karthik. “Built on the principles of engagement, interaction and motivation, our core objective was to replicate the feel of a classroom. After several demonstrations to various stakeholders, we were able to sign our first few clients.”
The startup will be launching funding rounds soon, with almost $620,000,000 promised already.
