REA Group today announced the appointment of Nigel Dalton as Chief Information Officer. He will commence the role on 4 June 2012.
Mr Dalton has over 25 years of IT-related experience across multi-nationals and start-ups. He joined travel publisher Lonely Planet as General Manager of Information Technology in 2007, becoming Deputy Director of Digital in 2010. Most recently, he co-founded a consultancy, Luna Tractor, to help businesses apply systems thinking and software development methodologies to all aspects of business. Previously, Mr Dalton has held roles with AXA Australia, ePredix in the US, and Silicon Systems and Mitsubishi Electric in New Zealand.
REA Group Managing Director and CEO, Greg Ellis, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Nigel on board as CIO. Nigel’s passion for technology and experience in building online businesses will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and grow our businesses in Australia and overseas.
REA Group’s CIO for the past three years, Daniel Oertli, will depart the business on 11 May 2012 to pursue new business opportunities.
