Operto Guest Technologies, a leading property automation system and purpose-built software for managing connected devices in guest accommodation, has announced an integration with European smart thermostat supplier tado°, ensuring European short-term rental property managers and their guests can benefit from intelligent smart home controls, automated workflows and superior guest comfort.

The integration brings enterprise-grade climate controls to property managers throughout Europe. To date, Operto’s smart check-in, check-out and other operational efficiencies gained from smart locks and connected thermostats in North America were not compatible with most European systems or worldwide split air conditioning systems. The introduction of tado° allows European property managers to manage heating systems, as well as air conditioning/heat pump units using infrared remote controls, to automatically save 20-35% on heating or cooling.

“We are really excited to partner with tado° to bring further operational efficiencies and enhanced guest experiences for property managers across Europe. Tado° has made a great residential product that translates really well to vacation rentals with the use of Smart Stay automated property software such as Operto. We have so many clients worldwide that can really benefit from the tado° AC Controller and Smart Thermostat."

— CEO Michael Driedger of Operto.

Operto’s Smart Stay solution solves operational issues commonly faced by professional property managers. The flagship solution fully automates guest entry by programming unique entry codes for every reservation onto smart locks with a keypad. With no action required by the manager, guests get the convenience of fully secure 24/7 self check-in - no app needed.

“Our integration with Operto allows short-term rental managers to ensure that not a penny is wasted heating or cooling when there are no guests staying. This can have a big impact not just on efficiency but also on reducing the significant amount of greenhouse gas emissions caused by buildings.”

— tado° Co-Founder and CPO Christian Deilmann

Operto’s range of solutions also include monitoring of noise, occupancy, and air quality. Energy savings are realized through intelligent thermostat control. Smart alerts and scheduling reduces turnover time and repetitive tasks.

Operto is currently working with vacation rentals, hotels, serviced apartments as well as niche accommodation alternatives across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean.
