As SABC3’s Top Billing celebrates turning 21, Private Property is partnering with the iconic show to bring one beyond-lucky South African the opportunity to win a lifestyle worth over R5-million!
Top Billing is the longest-running entertainment and lifestyle television programme in South Africa. The show is targeted at successful South Africans, proud of their country and their heritage, who aspire to and who do lead the good life via their achievements.
The SABC3 show is running a competition until December, in which the main prize is a fully-furnished apartment plus “accessories” like a brand-new wardrobe, a luxury car and a fully-stocked wine cellar – all worth over R5-million. In addition, Private Property is giving away an iPad Mini each week.
“We were thrilled when Top Billing approached us with the concept,” says Private Property CEO Justin Clarke. “The brand associations are so strong: Private Property exists to inspire, connect and serve people in their search for great lives. Top Billing brings the best of SA’s good life to people who aspire to this lifestyle. And likewise Woolworths, the competition’s main sponsor, is passionate about bringing quality and style to discerning customers. We’re in good company here!”
Each episode of Top Billing directs entrants to privateproperty.co.za, where they must find a clue hidden in a virtual tour in order to enter the competition. The virtual tour is updated every week to reflect the apartment’s progress from empty shell to perfect pad.
COO Simon Bray says that virtual tours are an increasingly popular feature on the portal. “Virtual tours offer browsers a rich viewing experience. Essentially, virtual tours accompanied by floor plans enable house hunters to view a property in its entirety online and make an informed decision on the need for a physical viewing.”
Simon says that Private Property has been working for five years to improve the quality of its listings by subsidising the virtual service, and the result is staggering with many properties featuring high-quality virtual tours. Private Property currently hosts more virtual tours than any other SA property site.
Private Property recently launched a ground-up rework of it site, to much acclaim, and at the same time started working with its estate agent partners on improving the quality of the listings that it hosts. “It’s all about the browsers,” says Simon. “Our all-new site is more visual, and offers richer information. And an innovative move to the Cloud, a first for a major SA portal, ensures that we’re faster and more robust – which is a good thing as Top Billing audiences exceed five million viewers weekly and we’re hoping to see them all on our site over the course of the competition!”
