With its mission, to improve the transparency and efficiency of how property is bought, sold and let in the UK; November 2010 Facebook notched another member, as Property Place was officially launched on the social media platform.
Two+ years forward, the Leeds-based company, now called Property Network, has secured funding from creative industries investor Ingenious Ventures, which promises to propel the company to new heights.
Founded by CEO Sohail Rashid and chaired by Dean Fielding, previously finance director at Your Move, Property Network uses Facebook to enable property searchers to look for their ideal place to call home, by tapping into the users’ personal data to display listings of properties which are close to their offices, favourite restaurants and/or schools.
“Property Network makes it easier for consumers to share the decision making process with trusted friends and family on one platform. By offering consumers more transparency and control Property Place improves the process for both buying and renting. Social networking allows improved consumer engagement and is the future for all high street services,” said Sohail Rashid, Founder and CEO, Property Network.
The company claims 900,000 registered properties on its database and more than 8,000 estate agents sharing property details via its Facebook tool.
Property Network plans to recruit one million registered users and 1.2 million listed properties in the next six months.
