The Madrid-based mid-term rental portal operator Spotahome has released a report in conjunction with IE Business School based on a survey of Spanish property professionals. The report shows that those employed in the property industry clearly believe that opportunity lies in the residential rental market and that most believe that hotels and offices will be the sectors most impacted.
Perhaps the most interesting point from the report is the change in perception of the importance of technology among those surveyed. Asked about the importance of technology in the sector prior to the pandemic, only 22% said that it was very important with 76% saying that technology was not a priority before the lockdown. These numbers are in stark contrast to those from the same question related to the post lockdown period where 61% said that the adoption of technology was very important with only 4% saying that it was not a big priority for them.
