Australia’s realestate.com.au has released an insightful video series which is bound to give a glimpse into the future, as it features cutting-edge homes challenging traditional concepts of Australian living spaces.
Created by Neighbourhood Films for realestate.com.au, Future Homes, focuses on the the evolution of architecture, technologies, population and socio-cultural trends, from the tiny house movement to the latest in smart homes.
According to realestate.com.au Creative and Video Manager Monique Knoblanche, the video series explores the dynamic shift we have currently taking place in the way we live in our dwellings.
“We wanted to show Australians what home living of the future looks like. That is, homes that are thinking about tomorrow, today,” said Knoblanche.
She explained that this project is finding Future Homes to be less about aesthetics and more about simplicity and functionality. “Our lifestyles are changing, so it makes sense that the way we live in our homes is changing too. Home living is responding to what’s increasingly more important in our lives, such as convenience, sustainability, efficiency and connectivity.”
Recently featured on Future Homes is Charlie Gutjahr’s home in Melbourne’s trendy suburb of Brunswick. Gutjahr said that simplicity and convenience and not added complexity, should be the key experiences drawn from living in a smart home. Gutjahr’s smart home can be run entirely on voice activation.
