In the wake of a successful merger back in 2017, coworking provider, r24 Group, has announced the complete takeover of Friendsfactory AG.

"Over time, we have grown successfully together, and we have constantly evaluated the development. For this reason, we have decided to focus entirely on the core brand rent24 and exercise our call option."

— Robert Bukvić, Founder and CEO of rent24

"The last two years have been interesting, but now I want to devote myself to new exciting real estate projects."

— Gregor Gebhardt, Founder of Friendsfactory

Gebhardt says the company will keep the "Friendsfactory" brand and he will stay on the team as an adviser.

For now, there will be minimal changes as far as tenants are considered. Existing employees will continue to be the go-to contacts for customers and the existing locations will continue to stay in operation.

"In future, the members can look forward to even more benefits, such as the integration in our corporate design, more comfort and the opportunity to use the international network of the rent24 community thanks to their membership."

— Robert Bukvić, Founder and CEO of rent24

Rent24 currently has over 70 locations in countries, including Germany, the US, the Netherlands and the UK. With this new ownership, rent24 plans for the expansion to continue towards existing markets as well as in new regions, like Southern Europe and Asia.
