Ricoh Europe highlights the importance of workplace digitization in attracting talent

According to the recent study "Workforce United", commissioned by Ricoh Europe, measuring the success and attractiveness of a company on its own financial basis is not enough anymore. Connecting to talent through employee engagement, training in new technologies, and work/life balance are now key analysis factors. For example, the study found that 69% of employees believe the best companies are investing in digital technologies to improve the skills of their people.

The Workforce United study commissioned by Ricoh Europe highlighted some key elements to ensure the sustainability and well-being of teams: a collaborative business culture, the possibility of learn and experiment with new technologies every day or feel that they are contributing to the positive evolution of society.

The importance of access to technology for all generations

By promoting digital skills training for all, European workers are expressing their desire to increase their skills, and especially to be able to offer each generation its place on the labor market. New technologies are seen as essential to the successful transformation of work environments; 63% of them agree that technology should play a central role in helping them do their jobs to the best of their ability and 65% admit to being more attracted to a "connected" business.

"A majority of business leaders feel it is important to move to a more digital work environment. Nevertheless one-third of them do not train their employees so that they can work effectively in this environment," says Isabelle Pierret, Marketing and Communications Director at Ricoh Europe. "However, there are many people of all ages and generations who want to have better access to technology. As a leading technology company, we have a duty to listen to our employees and to consider their concerns and recommendations.

Employee commitment, a key factor for the success and attractiveness of the company

On average, 65% of all generations share the values ​​and ideals of their company.

Regardless of age, 63% of those surveyed believe that business strategies should change dramatically in the next decade, and want to put their qualities and creativity to work.

Work-life balance: a topical concern

The boundaries between the personal sphere and the professional world are blurring as technology brings new ways of working, even if the balance between these two worlds remains a strong issue for 40% of respondents. The choice of a profession, a sector of activity, methods of work, are today key factors in the definition of the individual. This leads employees of all ages to wonder if their employer is truly aligned with their own vision and values, if it is sufficiently turned to others to appreciate this awakening and awakening to the world.
