Silicon Valley-based HR tech company, SkillTagz, Inc., recently announced the beta launch of its SkillTagz mobile app.
The new app was designed to tackle the compensation disparity and bias issues that companies everywhere are struggling to address. SkillTagz makes it possible for anyone to acquire market compensation data on demand, bringing transparency to compensation, and to screen talent without bias.
AK Mavani, SkillTagz’s co-founder and CEO said that Facebook has won the social space whereas LinkedIn is undecided somewhere between professional recruiting and social. “We are filling a market need by creating a mobile-first talent platform focused on hiring that promotes compensation transparency and fairer screening systems,” stated Mavani.
Previously, employers needed to fill out surveys and spend tens of thousands of dollars to obtain compensation data, which SkillTagz now makes available on demand on its app and website with the simple selection of a position and its location. This simplicity makes SkillTagz an ideal service for HR, recruiters, benefits brokers and executives looking to make the right compensation decisions.
“The recent wave of laws banning salary history questions has been a wake-up call for all companies. Companies should price the position and not the person. SkillTagz now makes it easy to compensate employees at market rate,” said Lisa Dedrick, SkillTagz’s co-founder and Chief Human Resources Officer.
The SkillTagz platform not only allows employers to get the latest market compensation rates, it is also designed to allow employers to screen talent in five seconds without seeing candidate names and pictures. Employers and talent are matched based only on essential information such as required skills. Users simply swipe to tag, chat and hire. “Millennials are looking for positions on their phones, but the recruiting process is stuck in the 1990s, where long job descriptions are still the norm. It’s time to change this,” said Mavani.
The SkillTagz app is available for free download in both iOS and Android versions.
