Luxury listing site Sothebys International Realty has announced it now supports 3D and VR tours on over 1000 of its properties.
The tours can be viewed through Andrioid or VR headsets and are produced by strategically placing specialised cameras throughout a home to create a result that transforms the way people browse properties.
Viewers can take a virtual stroll through a Georgian style brick manor in New Jersey, one of the 1000 now available to view on desktop, tablet or smartphone.
John Passerini, global vice president of Sotheby’s, said convenience was an important factor for those browsing Sotheby’s listings.
“Introducing 3D and VR Tours on sothebysrealty.com is just another example of how we are keeping the Sotheby’s International Realty brand on the cutting edge while creating an immersive experience for consumers.”
“Distance can present a challenge when looking to buy a home and virtual reality has provided a provocative solution. This technology is allowing buyers to purchase homes without having to physically travel to view them, which is especially relevant to the global clientele we serve.”
