Realtor.com, operated by Move, Inc., has rolled out its newest app, the updated Realtor.com iOS, intended for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, making it easier for on-the-go users to discover and research price reduced, foreclosed, and recently sold properties.
It has become apparent that, products such as the iPhone, iPad and related mobile products, which were originally seen more as entertainment devices are currently doing some serious heavy lifting in terms of productivity and business, this is why companies like Realtor.com have seen the need to develop apps, and make it easier for their users to discover and research great real estate.
Key features and benefits of the updated Realtor.com iOS mobile app include:
Properties sold within the last six months include the final sale price reported by the MLS along with the final sale date. The sold prices display on Realtor.com within 24 hours of a final sale.
Users can search for sold listings exclusively or watch as they surface automatically when zooming into a specific area while searching Nearby Open Houses.
Foreclosed listings are clearly identified with an easy-to-see orange badge and can be found as part of a general search or as part of a foreclosure-only search query.
Price Reduced property listings are identified with a green arrow. Users know instantly when and by how much a home’s list price was reduced based on MLS fresh updates. Users can also conduct price-reduced only searches from within the app.
Realtor.com mobile apps are the only real estate mobile apps that connect users to Realtor.com, the largest and most accurate collection of online property listings available. Today, 85% of all property listings on Realtor.com are updated every 15 minutes directly by an MLS. The rest are updated every one to 24 hours.
“As more and more home shoppers discover the convenience of using mobile devices for their real estate search, they’re also discovering the importance of real time data and demanding the most updated, enhanced information available,” said Move, Inc. Chief Product Officer, Scott Boecker. “With our new updated app, home shoppers can watch in real time local price and inventory trends and know the information is accurate. Mobile will remain an essential part of the home buying process and we will continue to innovate.”
As part of the update, the iOS home screen has been also redesigned so users are one touch away from discovering nearby homes for sale and rent, recently sold homes, and nearby open houses within 20 miles (32.18 km) of their current location.
The Realtor.com Area Highlighter and My Real Estate features are also more visible on the new home page so users can easily enjoy a customised and organised on-the-go search experience.
In the works is Moves’s proprietary HyperSocial™ agent search technology (currently in beta on Realtor.com), which connects potential property buyers with participating agents based on shared connections and mutual affiliations, as well as online communities and networks.
Move’s social search technology will be available within the Realtor.com mobile search experience in the second quarter of 2012.
