The Uruguayan Olympic Committee (COU) has signed an agreement with recruitment and staffing company Adecco to help athletes transition into the workforce after they retire from professional sports.
As part of the agreement, Adecco Uruguay will now provide training sessions to help those looking for employment. The hope is that these skills will help Olympians find jobs and integrate into the working environment.
COU President Julio Maglione was on hand at a ceremony to usher in the partnership.
The honorary member of the International Olympic Committee, who is also the current head of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) and the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO), was joined by some of Uruguay’s Rio 2016 Olympic athletes.
