Ride-hailing company Grab has made moves to begin tracking their drivers. This may not seem like a big change at first, as most ride-sharing apps show not only the company but the user where their drivers are. However, Grab is overstepping the current line by attempting to track their drivers while off-duty. So far, Grab has requested their rental fleet partners to use tracking devices on their cars, collecting data from the drivers that use cars loaned by the company. Grab hasn't confirmed if they plan on tracking any of their non-rental employees. Usually, tracking is done through use of

Auto Trader's monthly price checker has left testing, officially releasing after the short beta period. The service, created in part by Codeweavers, can allow customers to search for cars based on monthly payments the dealer lists on each car listing. Auto Trader makes this move in part due to demand from consumers, who wish to know exactly how their bills will be shifted due to car payments. Dealers can also list potential financing options on the listings, using the financing partner Zuto as reference. “The ability for a consumer to search based on their monthly budget forms part of our

Transfercar is a unique idea, uniting volunteer drivers wanting a (for the most part) free one-way trip with rental car companies needing to relocate their vehicles. Brian Karlson, Transfercar's co-founder, started the service in New Zealand back in 2008. He had observed a problem: Tourists often fly to the country's North Island before driving back to the South Island and catching a flight home, leaving an ample amount of cars on the wrong island. "It created a real imbalance,” Investor and manager of the US Operations in Missoula, Montana, Dennis Round said. “He thought there was a better and

The firm often buys large stake in big companies, attempting to sway the leaders of the business to take matters in a new direction. Wagon Cab, a ride sharing service based in Delhi, has begun to take the fight to Ola and Uber. Instead of the per-ride model that most ride sharing services use, Wagon Cab will instead be charging a subscription fee, swerving around many issues competitors face. Founders Arpan Aggarwal and Uttam Bose claim that they were inspired by Uber's surge pricing. The duo want riders to pay less and drivers to earn more
