Hiring.ly seeks to set itself apart through matching eligible candidates and employers through a range of psychometric, cognitive, and aptitude filters to improve employers chances of placing the right candidate.
Once registered on the platform, students go through four levels of training: from an introduction to the various elements of coding and web development, to practical tasks where they get to work on real-life projects at South African companies.
The forum noted that disabled people were qualified to handle various tasks in offices, factories, malls among other places, and called on the government the private sector to support formation of a national disabled persons’ database.
“Modern recruitment practices and mega online job portals are valuable tools for mainstream job placements, but its brute force approach can be inefficient for smaller businesses and first-time job seekers,” says Phillipa Geard, Founder of RecruitAGraduate.
