Serial UK entrepreneur Peter Lampe has launched a new property portal CubbyHole.co.uk which claims to provide “all the tools you need to buy or sell a property” without the use of an agent.
Cubbyhole provides a platform for users to advertise and sell property online from just £60. By cutting out the middle man Cubbyhole allows them to be their own estate agent managing their own property sale and costs.
“Our clear and easy to use website allows you to browse the property market from the comfort of your own home or on the go,” Lampe says.
The portal has a ‘Find a Pro’ section which advertises a list of services and trades in a user’s search area, while a ‘Useful Tips’ category answers questions regarding how to conduct a viewing and do a checklist counting down to moving day, which aims to provide estate agent services without the fees.
Cubbyhole, which launched in early May has unveiled a £2 million marketing campaign preparing for the future based across several media platforms.
With a background in marketing and communications as well as business ventures in the drinks and software industry, Lampe plans nationwide coverage on transport routes with a total impact of 51.5 million in London alone.
“We will also be advertising in popular household magazines, newspapers and radio stations, further increasing nationwide coverage. Also, during the Christmas period we will be advertising on a selection of SKY channels,” he says.
Cubbyhole has also teamed up with well-known companies and charities that can assist with household moves including Towergate which handles home and landlord insurance, and British Heart Foundation who will collect any unwanted items, including furniture to be sold via their shops to further fund research.
Cubbyhole also supports local charity Porchlight which help vulnerable and homeless people.
“Cubbyhole is a service that excels in its category, representing the best of the best,” Lampe says. “We are in a new age and the pace of progress dictates change, new ideas, creativity, ingenuity and diversity.”
Currently CubbyHole employs 23 people but aims to hire another 30 to 40 over the next few months as it sets up an evening and weekend call centre.
