It is only on its fourth year of life, but it is already a success both in visits and inscriptions. It is enough to refer to the numbers that the IV Virtual Job Fair of UNIR has registered to confirm that, once again, all expectations have been exceeded. There are no less than 1,627 job offers - half a thousand more than a year ago - that aspire to cover some of the 2,850 vacancies offered throughout the seven days of this project. An initiative that was born in 2016 from the hand of the Departures of Professionals and Employability of UNIR.

This meeting point has served companies, students, and graduates of UNIR, as well as external candidates, to interact online and, in this way, to approach positions to facilitate the search for job. An opportunity that has convinced the 2,904 participants and 206 companies attending, who have received nothing less than 45,463 profiles of candidates. 23.5% more than the previous year, when 36,800 profiles were registered and 156 companies were involved.

All of them have been convinced by the inclusion of outstanding local, national and international companies such as L'oreal, Uría Menéndez, Broseta, Correos, BBVA, CEPSA, Egibide Group, Chiron Prevention, Telefónica or UNHCR, among many others, which have covered the Areas of Business, Health, Engineering, Law, Education and Social Sciences.

Renowned firms that, among all of them, have received 7,275 entries to their job offers, 15% more than in the third edition. In addition, in total, the number of visits to the 365 available booths was 148,813, compared to 73,655 received in 2018.

In addition, as on previous occasions, several experts in Human Resources of the different companies have given eight presentations of free and participatory access. And up to 90 companies have remained available to interested candidates through virtual chat to speed up contact.

"UNIR is involved in the professional growth of its students and graduates, as well as in generating job opportunities in those countries where it carries out its academic activity," explained Manuel Peiró, Director of Training for Companies and Professional Outputs of UNIR.

In this sense, he has praised the fact that more and more leading companies in their sector are involved with this project, which contributes to consolidate the Virtual Job Fair of UNIR "as one of the annual meetings of reference between companies and the best international university talent ".

This is the case of Jessica Giraldo Cárdenas, a student from the Degree in Business Management and Administration of UNIR who has participated in this event. "The experience has been very positive and enriching," he praised, before highlighting the "direct contact with recruiters, without intermediaries."

Facts of the Fair in La Rioja

Also in the autonomous community of La Rioja the balance has been successful. In total, of the 206 participating companies, 14 were from La Rioja, compared to 11 the previous year. Specifically, it is Eleven Foundation, People and Strategy, Iman Temporing, Arisa, Decathlon, Capacitae, GNOSS, FER, AERTIC, Nortempo, Temple Cafes, Standard Profil, Project Man and Eures.

Among all of them, and during the days that the Fair has lasted, they have published 128 job offers - in 2018 they were a hundred - and received 660 entries. In addition, 76 candidates have been registered, of which 44 were UNIR students.

For his part, José Luis Pancorbo, president of the Innovative Business Association of the ICT sector of La Rioja (AERTIC), has shown his satisfaction for his participation (the first) in this Fair. "About 30 people have registered for our group's job offers; the data for us is overwhelming and surpasses those harvested in any other initiative of this kind, "he said.

In addition, he stressed that meetings like this help companies to attract talent. "There is a great need to incorporate professionals trained in new technologies," he remarked.
