“The Future is happening now, it’s just not evenly distributed,” said Amy Mills, the SVP of Cox Automotive. “So you have to watch everything, particularly the things that are just coming to market.”
In the same way that Apple is distributing its new feature (“chat with a business directly”) via the iMessage app, other large brands are opting to also streamline the connecting between those who are buying, and those who are selling.
In March 2018, Cox Automotive’s vAuto – one of the car dealer sales and information platform’s brands – launched Nexi, which it called the “digital assistant for car dealers.”
It’s currently available as a skill for Amazon Alexa, but Google Android Home functions are in its future. In the meantime, Nexi helps dealers “access their inventory, sell cars and generate profit,” the company states, adding that the Connected Intelligence/Knowledge Graph service can talk directly to consumers with a broad array of questions regarding “inventory, local market data, operations, and other dealership-related information.”
