Zillow Group‘s latest idea, Home Tour Highlights, promises to enable real estate agents to boast about and promote such property attributes like dreamy walk-in closets, renovated kitchens etc. The property portal giant is currently testing the new features on its platform, allowing agents to experiment with it, and play up specific details of properties they have toured to potential buyers.
Launched Tuesdays, Home Tour Highlights is available to all agents, in the San Jose, California area, the prerequisite is that they have an account with Zillow — a Premier Agent account is not needed. Zillow is currently reaching out to agents, brokers, and MLSs in the region, encouraging them to start populating Zillow’s home detail pages and make the highlights “live.”
Zillow is hoping to attract serious homebuyers to tour the homes for themselves after the properties have had their interesting or unique features promoted via Home Tour Highlights on the site. The company believes that an agent’s personal observation of a listing, i.e.: features which make the property stand out from the others, will drive more traffic to these properties and make it easier to connect them with potential buyers.
Ian Batra, from Keller Williams Bay Area Estates, Silicon Valley says, “Home tour highlights offer a great new way for agents to share a home’s desirable features with home shoppers. This is our expertise, and something we’ve been doing offline for as long as real estate has been around, so it’s exciting to start to bring this online.”
The company plans on expanding Home Tour Highlights to more markets throughout the U.S. in the new year after agents’ feedback is taken into consideration and/or improvements are made to the feature.
