US property portal and iBuyer Zillow has signed an agreement with the nations biggest homebuilder which will see its iBuyer services marketed to D.R. Horton’s customers when they purchase a new home. The idea behind the partnership is to allow homebuyers more flexibility over the closing date of the sale of their old home and avoid the stress of having to prepare their home for physical viewings before a move date.

"Buying a new home is an exciting time, and we're proud to collaborate with the nation's largest home builder to help people unlock life's next chapter. We look forward to working together to offer a more seamless experience for our shared customers," said Arik Prawer, President of the Zillow Homes Division.

Zillow Offers, Zillow’s iBuying product, allows closing date flexibility of up to 8 months for its customers, and avoids viewings and dealings with brokers which it sees as a game-changer in a market where people are increasingly wary of letting people into their home for viewings. The partnership with a major homebuilder will undoubtedly help Zillow’s big iBuying gamble reach the transaction volumes it needs to ultimately become profitable.
