British property browsing giant Zoopla has recently discovered that another website — SmartProp — was using its logo on its website footer without its permission, and has since asked the purported property portal to remove it.
That being said, the Zoopla logo was still on the SmartProp website as recently as yesterday, July 26th, 2018.
This adds to the mysterious launch of SmartProp, which originally featured Rightmove’s company number on its website while not being connected to the portal.
The website in question has also featured listings using the names of another agent without permission. SmartProp also shows an address in Harrow as its company location but is registered at Companies House in Walsall.
There has been no comment from SmartProp on these issues.
A supposed contributor from SmartProp did respond to a story about their mysterious portal from earlier this weak on EYE in the comments section that says the agents had already signed up, adding, “We offer a refreshing product of quality for estate agents who cannot afford to pay hundreds or thousands of pounds per month.”
