Latest news in the proptech world, AI-backed homebuying platform, Purlin has launched a new proptech platform to aid in the buying, selling, and renting process. Called StyleExplorer, this platform and matching app allows users to explore and compare homes room-by-room and check out the neighborhood a home is in through images, locations, layouts, and room designs.

Giorgi Chigogidze, CEO and Founder, explained that Purlin was developed because the proptech sector is “failing the homebuyer in its most important task.” There aren’t enough services that streamline searching for a home by the look and feel of a property.

He said:

"We believe that the process must be shaped around an understanding of a homebuyer's unique style and design preferences, and then augmented with practical considerations about lifestyle, daily routines, and budget. StyleExplorer accomplishes that. Using our AI, we connect homebuyers to the right homes, brokers to ready buyers, and lenders to safer mortgages."

Users can favorite images of properties as they browse and Purlin’s AI system continually refines their style profile to better service the search.

Chris Steege, Purlin CSO and CMO, says the goal is to bring emotion back into the process by servicing the user’s imagination and supporting their personal creativity and taste.

Ilya Dorfman, CTO, says:

"We implemented a computer vision technology, machine learning data augmentation, and natural language processing bots that extend human capabilities, empower our customers, and make their home-finding experience more pleasant.”

The service, though logical for the type of technology that is continuously being churned out of the sector, further supports home hunting from the comfort of a user’s couch. As we continue to deal with the pandemic, technologies like this one are going to become more and more needed and commonplace.
