Operto and August Home have announced an integration to offer Operto's Smart Stay property automation and August's smart house lock technology together.

August aims to offer short-term rental property managers an easy-to-install solution for deadbolts, including two retrofit Smart Locks, a connected Wi-Fi Bridge and Smart Keypad.

With the Operto integration, any time a booking is made, Operto will automatically send a time-based access code to guests for the August smart keypad. This ensures that guests no longer need to download the August app nor have property managers manually copying access codes into an email or SMS.

New features also available with Operto’s Smart Stay system are notifications for check-in /check-out, the start of cleaning, or when a cleaner finishes.

Operto has been purpose built for professional property managers, meaning that August locks can now be used in commercial rental settings, automatically integrated with a wider ecosystem of smart hardware and purposeful software, such as property management systems and channel managers.

Operto CEO Michael Driedger said:

“We are really excited to bring a greater degree of operational efficiency to busy and scaling short-term property managers. ASSA ABLOY, August and Yale’s parent company, has been a partner of Operto for a long time with many of our customers using their Yale Real Living series of locks."
