Australia’s largest co-living company, Hmlet, has appointed Example as the strategic PR partner for Australia.

Founded in Singapore in 2016, Hmlet has a vision of providing affordable and flexible housing solutions for a mobile workforce who are constantly on the move. Hmlet is one of the fastest growing co-living operator in Asia Pacific and operates 1,500 rooms spaces in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, with an ambition to build a network that spans 10 cities in five countries within the next two years.

Over the coming months, Example will work closely with Hmlet to announce new properties and exciting developments, cementing Hmlet’s position as the driving force behind community living in Australia and working collaboratively with the media to share the stories at the heart of the brand.

The PR appointment follows July’s announcement that Hmlet raised AU$55 Million in a Series B round led by Burda Principal Investments, allowing Hmlet to expand its presence in Australia and capitalise on the current conditions of the local property market. In Australia, co-living is quickly emerging as an alternative asset class and a lead-in for the country’s burgeoning build-to-rent sector.

Since arriving in Australia in February 2019, Hmlet has launched a 200-room portfolio with co-living properties in Newtown, Marrickville, Paddington and Alexandria, with immediate plans to open four new properties in Sydney and expand into Melbourne and Brisbane shortly.

Rebecca Gibbs, Director of Example, said: “This is an exciting time for Hmlet as they expand into the Australian market and we are thrilled to be working with them to create story-telling moments and campaigns. Co-living is a growing trend and an inspiring new way of living and socialising in Australia, and we are excited to be at the forefront of the movement with Hmlet”.

Chrystan Paul, Managing Director – Hmlet Australia said: “We have appointed Example to grow our brand presence in Australia and are delighted to be aligned with an agency who are known for creating impactful campaigns within the lifestyle, hospitality and entertainment space. Example is perfectly placed to position us with a lifestyle lens and forge strong brand connection in one of our fastest growing markets”.
