Zoopla has launched a new method for housebuilders to sell new build properties through its portal.

The new "Pay-on-Exchange" service means developers will only pay when a lead for a new build property converts to exchange, and Zoopla hopes that it will encourage developers of new builds to advertise on the portal without financial risk.

Zoopla claims an average of 4.7% of leads provided by the website are converted into reservation.

Riccardo Dawson, Managing Director Zoopla new homes, said:

“With many housebuilders operating in a market that’s forward sold, we know it’s more important than ever to provide marketing solutions that genuinely drive guaranteed results for our customers.”

A number of housebuilders already list properties on Zoopla, and developers will also have access to a dedicated media planner to run and optimise campaigns on their behalf. Zoopla also says the Pay-on-Exchange service is the first many innovations it will launch to support housebuilders looking to increase sales.

Meanwhile, Zoopla is trialling a new data migration tool that lets agents upgrade from Jupix to Alto.

The pilot is available exclusively to current Jupix customers.

Zoopla claims the data migration from Jupix to Alto will save agents up to 16hrs of manual data entry. As part of the migration experience, several additional datasets including the date rent is due and the amount to be charged, alongside management fee percentages will be migrated automatically.

Zoopla has invested heavily in new technology recently, launching a new lead delivery system for agents in April—including a Push Delivery Service and a Leads API which delivers leads in seconds—with both solutions free to current Zoopla customers.
