Spanish rentals platform Spotahome has revealed its new-look executive team, with CEO Alejandro Artacho predicting profitability by 2024.

The executive suite of the business now consists of Eduardo Garbayo (Chief Operating Officer), Jorge Alonso, (Chief Product and Technology Officer), Roberto García (Chief Financial Officer) and Lisa Porres (Chief People Officer), joining Artacho who has been in-situ since the company's foundation in 2014.

Interestingly, all of the promotions were internal; each of the C-level employees joined the company before the pandemic with the exception of García, who joined Spotahome in March 2021.

Spotahome struggled like many businesses during the pandemic, and shed more than 50% of staff to survive a major slowdown in rental demand worldwide.

The previous executive team also left during this period, with COO Cleo Sham, CPO Balaji Nageswaran and CTO Angel Azcarraga all vacating their respective roles.

Now two years later, Artacho is confident about the company's future.

“This is a recognition of the trust placed in them, granting them greater freedom, autonomy, and responsibility in long-term decision-making within the company,” he said.

“[The appointments] reinforce Spotahome's structure around these four key positions, allowing the company to continue growing.”

Commenting on the changes, new COO Eduardo Garbayo said:
“Spotahome is in a transformation phase. In recent years, we have seen how more and more owners are leveraging Spotahome to rent their homes in complete safety and increase occupancy and profitability.
“This new phase, which is naturally consolidating our business model, is a great opportunity to become the benchmark rental solution. We are going to convert 100% digital rentals into the new normal.”
