Although devices have been created that allow appliances to be connected to interact with each other, these advances are accompanied by high prices and waiting for several months or years to reach our country.

Enter Smart Homy, a Chilean initiative that allows connecting and controlling different devices (appliances) through a compatible Wi-Fi network, eliminating the use of cables to connect things and making the place “smart”.

“We created Smart Homy, because we realized that everything was migrating to services - VHS movies went to Netflix, CDs went to Spotify, the thermostat went to Nest - and we wondered if it was the turn of the smart home? And along with that, we became aware that the existing solutions did not have an efficient ecosystem, their integrations - from one another - are fragile, the devices are difficult to connect, a new problem rather than a solution. And that's how we wanted to deliver an intelligent ecosystem for everyone, and at the same time it wasn't very expensive,” says Orlando Jerez, Founder of Smart Homy.

Smart Home is a platform that helps ISP companies, TV operators, power distributors, hotels, real estate, to provide smart home services, lighting, air conditioning, locks, safe home, cybersecurity and parental control, health monitoring, etc. without the need to install a controller device or cables in the customer's home.

“When we talk about Smart Homy, we mean an intelligent service that not only controls the switching on and off of devices, this is done by other players in the market. Our solution allows you to be very specific, for example, when you wake up in the morning, prepare coffee and keep it warm, when you get out of bed, open the curtains, turn on the TV in the news channel, or know the heart rate of a person while sleeping, open up and know who is behind the door, create temporary keys for the door lock, control lighting, air conditioning, feed pets and much more," adds Jerez.

 How does it work?

To transform your home into a “smart home” with Smart Homy, you must download an app (free, available for Android and IOs) from which - in a few steps - you can control, from inside and outside the home or office- compatible devices such as plugs, light bulbs, locks, smoke sensors, security cameras, valves, microwaves, all kinds of appliances, etc.

By means of an extensor device or intelligent center -which can be connected to any television- the cables are eliminated and it allows the television to be converted into an intelligent operations center, which means that the TV is transformed into a smart device that allows to consume services 4K streaming like Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube or Spotify, and along with that, it allows you to control all connected smart devices and appliances through a menu on the screen, thus generating savings for users of up to 70% of its costs associated with equipment and services.

And thanks to an agreement with AT&T and DIRECTV, Smart Homy, you can enjoy these TV services without having to install a satellite antenna.

Smart Homy has the support of the business accelerator Magical Startups and won the IoT prize from the Hogar del Futuro contest. All devices - more than 30 compatible products and appliances - can be found available through its website and its network of distributors, starting at $14,990.

From September, this technology will be marketed by different telemarketers throughout the country under registration by Smart Homy.
