According to an announcement made by Ekrut, the Indonesia based recruitment platform startup, it has successfully closed pre-series A fund. The funding round was anchored by Venturra Discover. Joining the fund were new investors Azure Ventures and Japanese HR firm Bizreach Inc. Additionally, all existing investors including East Ventures, Prasetia Dwidharma, and Skystar Capita also made a comeback in this round of funding. However, the amount of fund is still unknown.

According to the managing partner of Venturra Discover, Raditya Pramana, the role of technology in the past 10 years has been very supportive towards the growth of various industries. He finds it ironic how the recruitment process for middle to upper managerial level is still done manually making it challenging to find the most appropriate candidate. Given these difficulties, the requirement of a unique solution grew, calling for technology helping in classifying candidates; precisely something Ekrut is equipped to offer.

Steven Suliawan and Ardo Gozal, the founders of Ekrut designed this recruitment platform is using data science, that intelligently curates and identifies suitable candidates to be presented to the employers on a weekly basis. While the industry standard remains to be two weeks.

The startup’ seed funding round took place in January 2017, post which this pre- series A funding round has come up. The main focus for Ekrut is to accelerate its growth while simultaneously increasing their grasp in both product and data science; for which the fresh funds will be utilized. Apart from this Ekrut, company’s network of talents and employers on board is also being sought to be expanded.

Ekrut, which was founded in 2016 has come a long way, with its claims to host a network of 2,700 employers and 120,000 highly skilled candidates. The Indonesian unicorns Tokopedia and Go-Jek are among their list of high profile employers.
